Department of Registration & Licensing
The department of Registration and Licensing is saddled with the responsibilities of registering and licensing all categories of Environmental Health Practitioners namely; Environmental Health Specialist, Environmental Health Consultants, Environmental Health Officers, Environmental Health Technicians and Environmental Health Assistants.
This department is equally responsible for registering Environmental Health Service providers in the different service areas such as sewage collection, solid waste collection, cleaning service, sanitary inspection of premises; and other newly introduced service areas that include but not limited to motor vehicle cleaning, public health chemical sales among others. Registration letters and certificates are duly issued on successful approval leading to induction into the profession. All registrations are followed by induction into the profession.
To maintain good standing with Council, any such registered individual or corporate organization must obtain annual license to practice as a professional in the outlined areas above.
The department has three divisions namely:
- Individual Practitioners Registration Division (IPR)
- Corporate Practitioners Registration Division (CPR)
- Licensing Division (LD)
